On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King
Stephen King might be the most notable name in the industry of horror fiction. It’s no wonder why. His writing takes readers deep into the fears that are found within every human on Earth. I enjoy reading all of his novels and this non-fiction guide to being a great writer was no different. King discusses some of the tactics that he used when becoming the household name today. King doesn’t give away a single key to becoming a great writer, because there isn’t one, but he does give readers an idea of what works and what doesn’t. This was one of the first books I read when I decided I wanted to become a writer. If you want be a writer one day (fiction or non-fiction) then this book is for you.

Lamott recognizes this fact to make sure we all have strategies to combat the dreaded writers block. Lamott also shares anecdotes that remind all of her readers that the greats face the same issues. How Anne Lamott faces and defeats all of the issues she has faced is inspiring to anyone who have heard the stories. If you want a book that gives universal strategies then Lamott has the perfect novel for you.
